Construction of the 140MW Ishwati Emoyeni wind farm near Murraysburg in the Western Cape province has started, following financial close on 24 February. Developed by Cape Town-headquartered African Clean Energy Developments (Aced), the plant will sell its power to energy aggregator and trader NOA Group (NOA).
NOA chief executive Karel Cornelissen said that Ishwati Emoyeni is the first large-scale, trader offtake renewable energy (RE) project to reach financial close in South Africa.
