The 2nd Regional Dialogue on Child Labour in Agriculture in Africa, hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in collaboration with regional partners, will take place virtually on 21 August 2025.
Under the theme “Sustaining the momentum: Eliminating Child Labour in Agriculture in Africa”, the dialogue builds on the first regional gathering of agricultural stakeholders to explore inclusive and innovative solutions to end child labour in agriculture in Africa.
The event will review regional data from the 2024 Global Estimates on Child Labour, and feature success stories from across Africa and insights into emerging innovations, including technology-enabled tools in fisheries, blockchain applications in agricultural value chains, and youth-led digital monitoring solutions.
This regional dialogue will also serve as a platform for African stakeholders to shape recommendations to the 6th Global Conference on Child Labour (Morocco, 2026).
