The AYuTe NextGen 2025 summit in Kampala brought together over 200 young innovators from ten African countries to showcase technology-driven solutions aimed at transforming smallholder farming. Under the theme “AgTech Generation Rising,” the event highlighted scalable innovations in climate-smart agriculture, market access, and agri-finance.

Among the standout ventures were Kenya’s Kimplanter Seedlings, which offers drought-resilient seedlings tailored for small-scale farmers, and Agritech Analytics, which developed solar-powered sensors for soil health and pest detection. Ghana’s Grow For Me introduced a crowdfunding platform that connects farmers to buyers and capital, while Nigeria’s Winich Farms presented bundled services that include credit, insurance, and market access.

Since its inception in 2021, AYuTe has supported more than 100 youth-led agribusinesses, reaching 3.5 million smallholder households and creating over 23,000 jobs. Heifer International, a key partner in the initiative, emphasized the importance of youth-led innovation in driving inclusive growth.
“These aren’t just startups—they’re catalysts for inclusive transformation,” said a Heifer spokesperson.
