Ghana Hosts Agricultural Innovation for Africa Conference

Accra, Ghana — October 13, 2025 The Agricultural Innovation for Africa (AIA) Conference opened at the University of Ghana, bringing together over 500 delegates from 15 African countries. Organized by the Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC), the event aims to empower youth to lead Africa’s agricultural transformation.
Under the theme “African Youth Leveraging Innovation for Sustainable Food Systems,” the conference features keynote speeches, panel discussions, and startup showcases. Topics include climate-smart agriculture, digital marketplaces, agri-fintech, and food processing technologies.
One highlight was the launch of the AgriTech Accelerator Program, which will fund and mentor 20 youth-led startups focused on solving food system challenges. Ghana’s Minister of Food and Agriculture praised the initiative, noting that youth engagement is critical to achieving food security and economic resilience.
Participants also explored partnerships with venture capital firms and NGOs to scale their innovations. The conference concludes with a pitch competition and awards ceremony recognizing outstanding agri-entrepreneurs.
