Africa International Agricultural Expo 2025 to Spotlight Innovation and Investment in Nairobi

The 2025 edition of the Africa International Agricultural Expo (AIAE) is set to take place from October 28 to 31 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya. This year’s event is expected to be the largest yet, drawing over 150 exhibitors and more than 100 international delegations from across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
AIAE 2025 will focus on three strategic pillars:
1. Agri-Tech and Digital Transformation: Showcasing cutting-edge technologies such as precision farming tools, AI-driven crop monitoring systems, and mobile-based platforms for market access and extension services.
2. Climate-Smart Agriculture: Featuring innovations in regenerative agriculture, water-efficient irrigation, drought-resistant seed varieties, and carbon-smart soil management.
3. Trade and Export Facilitation: Highlighting regional trade corridors, value chain integration, and compliance with global food safety and phytosanitary standards.
Key sessions and forums will include:
• A ministerial roundtable on harmonizing agricultural policy across the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)
• A startup pitch zone for agri-entrepreneurs to connect with investors and accelerators
• A women-in-agriculture summit focused on financing, land rights, and leadership
• Technical workshops on post-harvest management, cold chain logistics, and digital traceability
Strategic partners and sponsors include the African Union Commission, the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), the African Development Bank, and several private-sector agribusiness leaders. The event is also supported by Kenya’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, which sees the expo as a platform to position Kenya—and Africa more broadly—as a global hub for sustainable agricultural innovation.
Why it matters:
The AIAE 2025 arrives at a critical time when African agriculture is under pressure to feed a growing population, adapt to climate change, and reduce import dependency. Organizers hope the expo will catalyze new partnerships, unlock investment, and accelerate the adoption of scalable solutions across the continent.
