Growtech West Africa has partnered with Nigeria’s National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) to strengthen access to agricultural technology, investment and expertise ahead of the inaugural Growtech West Africa exhibition in Lagos in January 2027.
The collaboration aims to connect Nigerian farmers, agribusinesses and other agricultural stakeholders with international technology providers and industry experts, supporting efforts to improve productivity, strengthen agricultural value chains and enhance food security.
NADF’s involvement is expected to broaden opportunities for businesses across Nigeria’s agricultural sector to explore new technologies, establish commercial partnerships and access expertise that can support the development of a more productive and resilient food system.
Established by the Nigerian federal government under the National Agricultural Development Fund (Establishment) Act 2022, NADF works to address agricultural financing constraints and unlock the sector’s potential. Its mandate also includes supporting innovation, research, capacity building and the adoption of modern agricultural practices.
Mohammed A. Ibrahim, Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of NADF, said agricultural transformation required an ecosystem in which finance, technology, expertise and enterprise worked together to create greater value.
He said platforms such as Growtech West Africa could connect Nigerian businesses with international knowledge and technologies capable of improving productivity, strengthening value chains and creating economic opportunities.
Agricultural Technology and Investment in Focus
The partnership comes as Nigerian agricultural businesses seek solutions to improve efficiency, increase production and respond to growing food-system demands.
Opportunities span several areas, including irrigation, mechanisation, greenhouse technologies, livestock production, aquaculture and food processing. Investment in these areas can help businesses improve production methods, reduce operational constraints and strengthen their competitiveness.
Growtech West Africa aims to connect local businesses with international suppliers and technology providers, giving participants opportunities to explore solutions suited to the needs of Nigeria’s agricultural industry.
Alan Kelly, Commercial and Strategy Director at InD Group, said Nigeria was an important market because of its agricultural diversity, economic scale and influence across West Africa.
He said the launch of Growtech West Africa reflected confidence in the opportunities available across the region’s agricultural value chains. The platform is intended to establish direct connections between Nigerian businesses and international companies offering agricultural technologies, expertise and commercial opportunities.
Engin Er, Growtech Portfolio Exhibition Director, said the expansion into West Africa would bring international agricultural companies closer to local markets while creating opportunities for knowledge sharing and commercial exchange.
He added that the collaboration with NADF would help the exhibition engage with key stakeholders across Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
Lagos Exhibition to Showcase Agricultural Solutions
The inaugural Growtech West Africa is scheduled to take place from 26 to 28 January 2027 at the Landmark Centre in Lagos.
The exhibition will bring together companies and professionals involved in seeds and seedlings, plant nutrition and protection, irrigation, greenhouse technologies, agricultural machinery, precision farming, livestock, poultry, aquaculture, fisheries and food processing.
The event is expected to provide a platform for businesses to explore equipment, technologies and services while establishing relationships with potential customers, suppliers, investors and industry partners.
For Nigerian agricultural businesses, access to these networks could support the adoption of modern production systems and help strengthen connections between primary production, processing and distribution.
Nigeria’s large domestic market and extensive agricultural value chains also provide opportunities for technology companies seeking to expand their presence in West Africa.
Food Security and Sustainability Conference
Alongside the exhibition, Growtech West Africa will host a Food Security and Sustainability Conference, bringing together policymakers, investors, agribusiness leaders, researchers and technology providers.
Discussions will address agricultural financing, productivity, technology adoption, climate resilience and food production.
These issues are central to efforts to strengthen agricultural output while improving the ability of food systems to respond to climate-related pressures and changing market requirements.
By bringing together participants from different parts of the agricultural value chain, the conference aims to encourage the exchange of ideas and identify opportunities for collaboration between public institutions, private businesses and international partners.
Expanding Growtech’s International Reach
Growtech originated in Antalya, Türkiye, and has expanded its international presence through platforms in markets including Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and Rimini in Italy. Its entry into West Africa represents a further effort to connect international agricultural businesses with emerging markets.
The partnership with NADF provides an opportunity to link this international network with Nigeria’s agricultural development priorities, particularly access to technology, finance and specialist knowledge.
Participation opportunities remain open for exhibitors, sponsors, strategic partners and other industry stakeholders seeking to engage with the Nigerian and wider West African agriculture markets.
The success of the initiative will depend on how effectively the exhibition and its partnerships translate business connections into technology adoption, investment and practical improvements across agricultural value chains.
With its first Lagos exhibition scheduled for January 2027, Growtech West Africa is positioning itself as a platform for strengthening commercial collaboration and supporting the development of Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
