ALGIERS – Algeria will take centre stage at the 15th Nordic-African Business Summit in Oslo, Norway, as the country seeks to strengthen economic ties and expand cooperation with Nordic and African business communities.

Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries Sid Ali Khaldi is leading an Algerian delegation to the summit on October 8, following an assignment from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Algeria has been selected as the summit’s special guest of honour, providing an opportunity for the country to present its economic potential and promote stronger partnerships with international investors and businesses.

The Nordic-African Business Summit brings together government representatives, business leaders and investors to explore opportunities for trade, investment and cooperation between Nordic countries and Africa.

Algeria’s participation is expected to place particular attention on the country’s agricultural sector and wider economic opportunities, while reinforcing its efforts to build international partnerships and attract investment.

The summit also provides a platform for Algerian businesses and institutions to engage with Nordic counterparts and explore opportunities across areas including agriculture, food production, infrastructure, energy and other strategic sectors.

For Algeria, greater international engagement forms part of a broader effort to diversify its economy and strengthen cooperation beyond traditional markets. Increased investment and commercial partnerships could also support the development of value-added industries and expand opportunities for Algerian companies in international markets.

The country’s presence as guest of honour gives Algeria an opportunity to showcase its investment environment while highlighting areas where Nordic expertise, technology and capital could contribute to economic development.

The Oslo summit is therefore expected to serve as an important platform for advancing Algeria’s international business relationships and identifying new opportunities for cooperation between African and Nordic economies.
